Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in collaboration with Tarn Taran police, arrested two associates of terrorist Lakhbir Singh (Landa Harike) and gangster Satnam Singh (Satta Naushehra) after a brief gunfight. The arrested individuals, identified as Mehakpreet Singh and Yuvraj Singh, were found with two sophisticated pistols—a 9 mm Glock and a .30 calibre PX30—along with cartridges and spent bullet shells.

DGP Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, confirmed that both suspects were directed by foreign handlers to execute targeted killings in Punjab. Their arrest has helped prevent such crimes, he stated.

The accused were also involved in a shooting incident at a sarpanch's house in Tarn Taran on March 26. The AGTF and Tarn Taran Police tracked the suspects based on intelligence and quickly apprehended them. During the arrest attempt, the suspects fired at the police, resulting in their injuries. They are now receiving medical treatment.
