On Wednesday, Trinamool Congress strongly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP over the reported abuse of a child labourer in Gujarat, Modi’s home state. The party shared pictures of the injured child labourer on social media, highlighting the cruel treatment he suffered while working in a jewellery factory.

Trinamool named the boy as Ganesh Durlabh from Kalna, who was reportedly forced to work and brutally beaten, causing serious injuries and trauma. The party accused the BJP of ignoring such human rights violations and showing disrespect towards Bengal.

Trinamool Congress also stated that the West Bengal government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is taking all necessary steps to ensure the child's safety and recovery. The party labelled the BJP as Bangla Birodhi (anti-Bengal).

Recently, Prime Minister Modi had criticised West Bengal’s law and order and accused the Trinamool Congress of corruption and mistreatment of Hindus in minority areas. Trinamool’s latest comments came in response to these attacks, highlighting alleged BJP failures in Gujarat.
