Three police officers in Bihar were arrested for hiding 16 bottles of India-made foreign liquor (IMFL) inside a police station, despite alcohol being banned in the state. The incident took place at the Sultanganj police station in Patna, and a civilian was also arrested in connection with the crime.

The arrested officers include Assistant Sub-Inspector Murari Kumar, Constable Nagendra Paswan, and driver Shailesh Kumar. They were apprehended on Thursday after an investigation revealed that they had secretly stored the seized bottles of liquor on the station's premises.

Earlier, on January 14, three individuals were arrested by the police for transporting 46 bottles of IMFL in a vehicle. However, the driver of the vehicle was allowed to leave without facing any consequences. During the investigation, it was discovered that 16 bottles were missing. Upon further inquiry, the missing bottles were found hidden in a bag near a tree at the police station.

Following the investigation, the officers were arrested, and a fourth individual was also taken into custody for assisting them. The Bihar government had implemented a liquor ban in 2016, prohibiting the manufacture, sale, and consumption of alcohol in the state.
