A tragic accident claimed the lives of three students from National Law University (NLU) Jodhpur and left 28 others injured when their private bus collided with a truck in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district early Tuesday morning. According to police reports, the accident occurred around 5:30 AM on Ladnun Road near Laladasji Maharaj Dham.

The students were returning to their university from Chandigarh when an oncoming truck crashed into their bus, causing it to overturn. The impact resulted in severe injuries, with three students dying on the spot. Surpaliya Police Station in-charge Siya Ram stated that the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. Emergency services rushed to the site, and the injured were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that at least 24 students suffered varying degrees of injuries, with four in critical condition. Eyewitnesses reported that the collision was severe, leaving the bus mangled and debris scattered across the road. Rescue operations were carried out swiftly, with locals assisting in pulling out students trapped inside.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the absconding truck driver and determine the exact cause of the accident. The university administration has expressed deep sorrow over the incident, offering support to the victims’ families. Authorities suspect that overspeeding or driver fatigue may have contributed to the accident, as the crash took place during the early morning hours. The district administration has assured strict action against the truck driver once apprehended.
