Thousands of students pledge: 'Youth is India's Strength'
New Delhi
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) held a nationwide youth event titled ‘Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti – One Youth, One Nation, One Resolve’ on Wednesday. Thousands of students from across India participated, taking a unified pledge to serve the nation. The synchronized ceremony took place in five universities—Jamia Hamdard (Central), University of Kashmir (North), MS Ramaiah University (South), Himalayan University (East), and Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (West).
This collective pledge was inspired by the national sentiment following the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s firm response through Operation Sindoor. Students expressed unity, patriotism, and commitment to a self-reliant India. The programme echoed Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, and Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
In Delhi, dignitaries including AIU Secretary General Dr. Pankaj Mittal and Jamia Hamdard Vice Chancellor Dr. M. Afshar Alam addressed the gathering. AIU President Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak emphasized that universities are not just learning centers but also strongholds of national spirit.
AIU also announced the cancellation of academic MoUs with Turkey and Azerbaijan for their disrespect toward India’s sovereignty, reinforcing that global cooperation must respect national pride.
This initiative highlighted youth as active builders of modern India. The united voice of students showed that Yuva Shakti truly is Bharat Ki Shakti, and this generation is ready to lead, not follow.
