The Sudanese Ambassador to India, Mohammed Abdalla Ali Eltom, thanked the Indian government for its ongoing humanitarian support during the conflict in Sudan. He specifically acknowledged the delivery of 25 tons of medicines to Port Sudan by an Air Force flight right after the war began. Eltom stated, We appreciate the humanitarian assistance provided by India, especially the shipment of medicines when they were urgently needed.

He also expressed gratitude for a second shipment that arrived last month, which included cancer medications, and noted the ongoing receipt of essential medical equipment like Hemolysis machines for kidney failure patients. Eltom emphasized the significance of these supplies for Sudanese healthcare during the crisis.

Regarding the nature of the conflict in Sudan, Eltom clarified that it is not a civil war, as some reports have suggested. Instead, he described it as a war of self-defense, where the Sudanese Army and the people are protecting their country from external aggression. He explained that militias involved in the conflict are acting as proxies for foreign powers, pursuing their own agendas. Eltom concluded by highlighting how Sudanese citizens have come together in defense of their land, recognizing the external threats to their nation.
