Sri Lanka Army Chief visits Jaipur, meets SWC officials

In a key move to boost military cooperation, Sri Lanka Army Commander Lt Gen BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo is on a two-day visit to the Sapta Shakti Command in Jaipur from June 12 to 13. He was warmly received by Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, Commander of the South Western Command.

During his visit, Lt Gen Rodrigo held detailed discussions with senior Indian Army officers on regional security, joint training, and enhancing operational capabilities. Both sides focused on improving coordination and sharing best practices.

A major highlight of the visit was a live demonstration of counter-terrorism operations and advanced military equipment, showcasing the Indian Army’s preparedness and strategic strength.

Lt Gen Rodrigo also explored Rajasthan’s rich cultural and military heritage, visiting historical landmarks and sites.

This visit reflects the growing defence ties between India and Sri Lanka, aimed at promoting regional peace, stability, and closer military collaboration through regular exchanges and shared initiatives.
