Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday issued a firm warning to Naxalites, stating that anti-Naxal operations will continue throughout the monsoon season. Breaking from tradition, when operations usually slow due to flooding and forest inaccessibility, Shah declared, “This time, we won’t let them sleep.”

Speaking at Nava Raipur Atal Nagar in Chhattisgarh while laying the foundation stone for the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) campus and a Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Shah emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism by March 31, 2026. “Every year, Naxals used the monsoon as a shield. But now, operations will press on to meet our 31/3 target. We will not stop until Naxalism is eliminated,” Shah said.

He called on militants to surrender and reintegrate into society, assuring that the Centre and Chhattisgarh government would fulfill promises made to those who give up violence. “I wholeheartedly welcome those who lay down arms and join the mainstream. There’s no need for negotiations—just surrender and become part of India’s journey towards development,” he added. The visit marks a strategic push to intensify development in regions affected by Left Wing Extremism, with Shah reaffirming that the Centre is prepared to provide all necessary support.

The NFSU campus is expected to bolster forensic capabilities in the region and aid in law enforcement efforts, including counter-insurgency strategies. This marks a turning point in India’s internal security strategy, as the government signals a relentless year-round campaign against Naxal strongholds.
