A total of 434 projects are planned under these corridors, with the highest-ever Capex allocation of ₹2,65,200 crore for 2024-25.
To encourage private investment in cargo terminals, Indian Railways is developing Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals (GCTs) nationwide. So far, 354 locations have been identified, and 91 GCTs were commissioned this year.
In a move to streamline operations, pending cases under the Indian Railways E-Procurement System were resolved through the “Vivad Se Vishwas II” scheme. Additionally, a new 'Schedule G-1' has been introduced for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) tenders to reduce uncertainties.
With these measures, Indian Railways is positioning itself as a key driver of infrastructure development and economic growth.
