Rahul claims full proof of EC cheating
New Delhi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday claimed his party has 100 percent concrete proof that the Election Commission allowed cheating in a Karnataka constituency. He warned the poll panel that it would not escape accountability, saying, “We are going to come for you.” Gandhi accused the Election Commission of failing to do its job properly and not acting as a fair authority.
Responding to questions about the special intensive revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Bihar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s statement about possibly boycotting the assembly polls, Gandhi said his party uncovered fraud in one Karnataka constituency. He pointed out irregularities like thousands of new voters aged 45, 50, and even 65 being added, which raised serious doubts.
Gandhi said they studied one seat but believe similar cheating is happening in many places. He accused the EC and its officers of trying to get away with manipulating voters, but warned them it would not be allowed.
Earlier, Gandhi had said elections are being stolen in India and promised to expose the method of vote theft clearly to the public and the Election Commission.
The controversy comes amid the ongoing SIR process in Bihar, where officials found over 52 lakh voters missing from their addresses. Opposition parties have been protesting in Parliament, claiming the revision aims to disenfranchise voters before the Bihar elections.
