Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge strongly criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday for his comments regarding Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, claiming Shah was "bitten by a rabid dog."

Speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi, Kharge, who holds the Information Technology and Biotechnology portfolio, emphasized that chanting Ambedkar's name brings political, social, and economic equality, unlike Shah’s apparent disregard for Ambedkar's values. He stated, "While I may not know if chanting God’s name will get me to Heaven, chanting Ambedkar’s name ensures a life of dignity and equality."

Kharge further stated that Ambedkar and Basava's philosophies threaten the RSS ideology, which he claimed Shah does not embrace.

Earlier, Shah had accused the Congress of misrepresenting his remarks on Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha and claimed that the opposition’s response revealed their anti-Ambedkar and anti-reservation stance. He also accused Congress of distorting his words.
