PM Modi to inaugurate India Steel 2025 conference in Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India Steel 2025, the 6th edition of the international exhibition and conference, taking place from April 24 to 26 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. This biennial event will bring together global leaders from the steel sector to discuss future growth, sustainability, innovation, and resilience.
India aims to achieve a production capacity of 300 million tonnes and a per capita consumption of 160 kg by 2030, as per the National Steel Policy. The conference will highlight India’s efforts in policy reforms, infrastructure development, and enhancing business ease in the steel sector.
The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi through video conferencing on April 24. It will be attended by key leaders including Union Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai. Global dignitaries from countries like Russia, Australia, Mozambique, and Mongolia will also participate.
Key highlights include showcasing cutting-edge steel technologies, roundtable discussions on international collaboration, and a Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet to foster trade. Country-specific sessions will feature steel-producing nations like South Korea and Sweden, focusing on joint research and resilient supply chains.
With over 12,000 visitors, 250 exhibitors, and 1,200 conference delegates, this event will be one of the largest global steel gatherings. Other Union Ministers like Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Pralhad Joshi will also attend, reflecting steel’s vital role in India’s economic strategy.
