Lucknow
On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu reflected on the sense of community prevalent in Uttar Pradesh, emphasizing the use of the term 'hum' (we) instead of 'mein' (I) in conversations, symbolizing a collective identity. Speaking as the chief guest at the 27th Foundation Day celebration of the Divine Heart Foundation in Lucknow, she noted that despite diverse religious, caste, regional, and belief affiliations, the inherent Indian identity shines through.
President Murmu praised hospitals embodying the spirit of Nar Seva and Narayan Seva (serving God through humans) as exemplars of humanity. Commending the Divine Heart Hospital and Research Center for its commitment to serving humanity, she urged healthcare professionals to raise awareness about heart health, emphasizing the potential impact on thousands of lives.
Asserting that quality medical facilities at affordable rates are essential, President Murmu envisioned building a healthy and prosperous India through collective efforts. She fondly remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's deep connection with Lucknow, acknowledging his invaluable contribution to democracy and referring to him as an asset to both the city and the nation.
The event, inaugurated by lighting the lamp, was attended by dignitaries including Governor Anandiben Patel, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak. The founder and chairman of the Divine Heart Foundation, AK Srivastava, delivered the welcome address.
