Pakistani MP breaks down in Parliament after Operation Sindoor
New Delhi
India's Operation Sindoor has made a significant impact, even echoing within the chambers of Pakistan's Parliament. In a deeply emotional moment, Retired Major and MP Tahir Iqbal, a former Pakistani Army officer, broke down while speaking in Parliament. He passionately pleaded for Allah’s protection for Pakistan, reflecting the deep sense of fear within the country following India's military response.
This tearful appeal came after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s public call for international help, as Pakistan grapples with India’s retaliation to the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. India’s Operation Sindoor had targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK, reportedly eliminating nearly 100 terrorists.
In Parliament, Iqbal expressed Pakistan’s vulnerability and sought divine intervention, saying, Our nation is weak. We must pray to our Lord for protection. He emphasized Pakistan’s origins, referencing divine visions that led to its creation, and asked Allah for forgiveness.
Iqbal’s emotional breakdown highlights the profound psychological impact of India’s swift and precise military actions. In retaliation for the Pahalgam attack, India demonstrated its resolve by targeting terrorist infrastructure, signaling a shift from restraint to decisive military action.
Pakistan, under pressure, responded by firing across the LoC and attempting drone and missile strikes on Indian cities, all of which were thwarted by India’s air defense systems. As the situation intensifies, Pakistan’s lawmakers are turning to prayer, reflecting the profound anxiety caused by India’s resolute response.
