Padma Shri Dr. Shyam Singh Shashi passes away

Renowned writer, poet, sociologist, and anthropologist Padma Shri Dr. Shyam Singh Shashi passed away on Wednesday.

A scholar of great influence, he authored The Shepherds of India (1975) and served as President of the All India Pal Kuruba Mahasabha for three decades. He was also the Director-General of Publications Division, Ministry of I&B, and Chancellor of Roma Cultural University, Serbia.

His contributions to literature and cultural studies remain invaluable. His extensive research on marginalized communities and Indian society continues to be a guiding source of knowledge and inspiration for future generations.
