Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly criticized those glorifying Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, calling such admiration a sign of mental distortion. Speaking at Manthan: Kumbh and Beyond, an event organized by Organiser, an RSS-affiliated weekly, he remarked that no intelligent or mature person would idolize a cruel ruler like Aurangzeb.

His comments followed a controversy over Maharashtra Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi’s remarks on Aurangzeb, which led to his suspension and multiple FIRs. Adityanath challenged those who admire Aurangzeb to name their own children after him and be ready to face the consequences.

Referring to historical accounts, Adityanath highlighted that Aurangzeb imprisoned his father, Shah Jahan, in Agra Fort, depriving him of water and leading to his slow death. He added that even Shah Jahan regretted having a son like Aurangzeb, as per his own writings. The Mughal ruler also killed his own brother to consolidate power.

Adityanath concluded by urging people to respect India’s true heroes instead of glorifying oppressors. He emphasized that India today values its traditions, aspires to be the world’s largest economy, and knows how to respond to those who undermine its culture.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced free LPG cylinder refills for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries ahead of Holi and Ramzan. He said Rs 1,890 crore has been allocated for 1.86 crore people. Lauding PM Modi’s 2016 initiative, he highlighted its impact on 10 crore families. Adityanath also spoke about improved ration distribution, increased financial aid for girls, scooters for top female students, and working women’s hostels.
