New Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday visited the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) training centre for MLAs, where they are being trained in paperless legislative functioning. Accompanied by Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta and PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, the Chief Minister explored the platform and its features, aimed at transitioning the Delhi Assembly into a fully digital, paperless system.
The second day of the NeVA training programme included a detailed presentation by experts, explaining the system's objectives, features, and how it would transform legislative procedures. Speaker Gupta emphasised that the training aligns with the central vision of ‘One Nation, One Application’ and called it a crucial step toward digital governance.
To support this transition, CM Gupta and Minister Singh were handed smartphones preloaded with the NeVA app. Legislators used these devices, along with 18 newly installed computers at the centre, to access digital tools like the List of Business (LoB), legislative documents, and updates.
Training sessions, conducted by experts from the Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, will continue for another day to ensure all MLAs are fully equipped for the upcoming monsoon session.
CM Gupta called the launch of the NeVA Seva Centre and the completion of the first training phase a major step towards creating a transparent, sustainable, and digital legislature. Speaker Gupta added that this initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision and corrects the earlier lack of focus on digital legislative reforms.
