MVA faces criticism from Mahayuti after SP announces exit from oppn alliance
Mumbai
On Sunday, the Mahayuti criticized the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for internal conflicts and mutual blame after their poor performance in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. This comes after the Samajwadi Party (SP) decided to exit the opposition alliance, citing grievances about lack of coordination during the election process. SP leader Abu Asim Azmi accused Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena (UBT) of failing to work together, leading to the MVA's defeat. He also highlighted being excluded from meetings and rallies. Mahayuti leaders, including Shiv Sena’s Manisha Kayande and BJP’s Sanjay Upadhyay, dismissed Azmi’s claims, suggesting they were an afterthought following MVA’s loss. Azmi also criticized Uddhav Thackeray's Hindutva agenda and a controversial social media post by Shiv Sena (UBT) members. He emphasized SP's commitment to secular values and vowed not to ally with parties pursuing a communal agenda, reinforcing their stand for unity and democracy.
