Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said that the Modi government is fully committed to giving 33% reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. He recalled that the Women’s Reservation Bill—Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam—received the President’s assent in 2023, and the government is expected to implement it before the 2029 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Nagpur marking 11 years of the Modi government, Gadkari said these years have brought historic progress. He highlighted that what couldn't be achieved in six decades under previous governments was accomplished across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, power, and communication.

Gadkari shared that India’s logistics cost has dropped from 16% to 10% due to improved road infrastructure. He expects it to fall to 9% by year-end, boosting exports and business. He cited ongoing work on port connectivity projects worth ₹75,000 crore and infrastructure works of ₹5 lakh crore in Maharashtra.

He also praised schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana and Har Ghar Jal for helping the poor. Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s criticism, Gadkari said the government speaks through its achievements, not dreams.
