West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday accused outsiders of being brought into the state to instigate violence and called on people to resist division. Speaking at a government event in Murshidabad, she urged citizens not to follow the BJP or religious extremists, warning against being provoked by these external influences. Banerjee reaffirmed that the Waqf (Amendment) Act would not be implemented in Bengal, stressing that there would be no room for such legislation in the state. She also appealed to the public not to engage in violence over the protests related to the Act. Banerjee is currently on a two-day visit to Murshidabad to meet the victims and families affected by the recent riots. Violence erupted in Dhuliyan, Samserganj, and other areas during protests in April, leading to the loss of three lives.
