J&K govt reshuffles mid-level administration officials

In a significant reshuffle of the middle-level civil administration, the Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the transfer and posting of 134 JKAS officers to strengthen departmental efficiency and governance. The General Administration Department released the list of transfers, impacting various key roles across the union territory.
Bashir Ahmad Dar, previously MD of JKPCC, has been appointed Secretary of the J&K Public Service Commission. Rajinder Singh Tara, earlier heading Youth Services and Sports, is now Controller of Legal Metrology, while Anuradha Gupta has taken over his previous post. Smita Sethi is the new Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.
Other major changes include Tara Mathora Masoom as MD of J&K Financial Corporation, Abdul Hafiz Shah as Special Secretary in the IT Department, and Musheer Ahmed as Mission Director for Integrated Child Development Services. Nawab Din now serves as Custodian General, and Mohammad Mumtaz Ali has been named Director of Tribal Affairs.
Several officers who were awaiting new postings have been assigned roles. These include appointments in departments such as Planning, Education, Power, Tourism, Revenue, and Transport. Notably, Ghalib Mohi-ud-din Shah has taken full-time charge as Director of SKICC, while continuing his role as Secretary of the Royal Spring Golf Course.
Additionally, new postings were made in the Information, Health, Labour, and Employment Departments. Several officials have also been assigned as Deputy District Election Officers in Budgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Reasi.
This administrative shake-up aims to place experienced officers in strategic positions to improve governance, streamline operations, and address pending vacancies across various departments.
