PM Modi vows severe punishment for attackers, emphasizing India's unwavering resolve against terrorism

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar spoke with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul over the phone on Thursday. During their conversation, Jaishankar expressed gratitude for South Korea's support following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the importance of fighting terrorism in all its forms.

The Pahalgam attack, which occurred on April 22, resulted in 26 deaths and many injuries when terrorists targeted tourists at Baisaran meadow. Jaishankar thanked South Korea for standing with India in the aftermath of the attack and reiterated the need for collective action against terrorism.

In response to the attack, India has taken strong measures against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and expelling Pakistani diplomats. The Indian government has also canceled visas under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme and halted visa services for Pakistani nationals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed that those responsible for the attack will face severe punishment. He assured the nation that India's determination to fight terrorism is unwavering, saying, The willpower of 140 crore Indians will now break the backbone of terrorism.

PM Modi also emphasized that India will pursue all terrorists, their handlers, and supporters, wherever they are. He made it clear that terrorism will not be tolerated and that justice will be pursued relentlessly, with the entire nation united in this fight.
