Jaishankar, SA Governor discuss education, space, agriculture, consular ties

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with South Australia's Governor Frances Adamson in Delhi on Tuesday. The two leaders discussed key areas of cooperation, including education, space, agriculture, energy, water, and consular matters. Jaishankar shared the update on X, calling it a productive meeting.
This meeting comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on June 17 during the G7 Summit in Canada. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening India-Australia ties.
Separately, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held talks with Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles in Delhi. They reviewed the full spectrum of defence cooperation between the two nations. Singh appreciated Australia’s strong support for India’s response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
The India-Australia partnership continues to grow, grounded in shared democratic values, Commonwealth heritage, and increasing cooperation across defence, trade, and technology. The relationship is evolving into a key pillar of regional and global engagement.
