New Delhi
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on Monday congratulated Cho Hyun on being appointed as South Korea’s new Foreign Minister. In a post on X, Jaishankar said he looked forward to working closely with him to further deepen the Special Strategic Partnership between India and South Korea.
Earlier on July 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a delegation of South Korean special envoys and acknowledged the completion of 10 years of the India-South Korea Special Strategic Partnership. He noted the growing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the Indo-Pacific region.
On the same day, Jaishankar also met the delegation led by former South Korean Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum. They discussed strengthening ties in sectors like defence, economy, maritime security, and technology. The EAM also emphasized the importance of enhancing people-to-people exchanges.
These meetings reflect both nations' commitment to boosting ties in green energy, semiconductors, shipbuilding, and regional stability.
