YSRCP leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy marked June 4 as Betrayal Day, criticizing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for failing to fulfill any promises made when he came to power exactly one year ago. In a post on X, Reddy accused Naidu of false statements, broken promises, and backstabbing, which he said have disappointed the people of the state.
To protest the TDP-led government, the YSRCP organized marches in several cities like Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Anantapur, with hundreds of party workers and supporters participating. The protests highlighted Naidu’s unkept Super Six promises from the 2024 elections, including 20 lakh jobs, monthly unemployment allowance, and free bus travel for women. One placard read, Babu betrayed, today is Betrayal Day, while others accused him of cheating women by not providing the promised financial support.
The YSRCP stated that Naidu and his NDA allies (BJP and Janasena) won the 2024 elections by a landslide, but have failed the people since. Jagan said the strong public turnout reflected widespread anger and frustration. He thanked supporters for standing united to voice their concerns.
Meanwhile, TDP leader Nara Lokesh called the election victory a win for democracy and praised the current government’s efforts to rebuild Andhra Pradesh with support from Prime Minister Modi. He urged people to continue backing the government for the state’s development.
