In response to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, the Indian government has begun relocating its citizens, especially students, to safer locations within Iran. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed on Monday that the Indian Embassy in Tehran is actively monitoring the situation and maintaining regular contact with Indian nationals.

The MEA stated, “The Indian Embassy in Tehran is continuously monitoring the security situation and engaging Indian students in Iran to ensure their safety. In some cases, students are being relocated with the embassy’s facilitation. Other feasible options are also under examination.”

In a post on social media platform X, the Indian Embassy in Iran issued an advisory urging Indian nationals and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) to stay alert, avoid unnecessary travel, and adhere strictly to safety guidelines issued by local authorities. They were also advised to follow updates shared by the Embassy’s official social media accounts.

The embassy is also in communication with Indian community leaders in Iran to ensure their welfare and assess on-ground needs. While a full-scale evacuation has not been announced, preparations and contingency plans are underway should the conflict worsen.

Both Indian missions in Iran and Israel have been issuing regular advisories amid rising concerns over civilian safety due to military actions in the region. The government emphasized that further updates will follow as the situation develops. This diplomatic effort highlights India’s proactive approach in protecting its citizens abroad during international crises and maintaining communication channels to ensure transparency and assistance at every step.
