The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across several districts of Telangana over the next six days. A yellow alert has been issued for Friday and Saturday in districts like Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.

Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph are expected in isolated areas across the state. On Sunday, yellow alerts are in place for Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and a few other districts.

This weather is due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over Southwest Telangana, extending up to 5.8 km above sea level, and a trough from the west-central Arabian Sea to south coastal Odisha, crossing Telangana.

In Hyderabad, cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfall are expected over the next four days, with occasional heavy spells and gusty winds. Morning hazy conditions are also likely. Yellow alerts have been issued for all zones in the city, including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, L B Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally.

Heavy rainfall on Friday afternoon disrupted traffic in Hyderabad, especially in areas like Koti, Abids, Himayat Nagar, and Tank Bund. Waterlogging caused severe inconvenience to commuters.

According to the Telangana Development Planning Society, Siddipet recorded the highest rainfall of 66.3 mm by 4 p.m. Friday, followed by Adilabad with 39.5 mm, and Bhadradri Kothagudem with 39.3 mm. Nampally in Hyderabad saw 12.8 mm of rain during the same period.
