On Tuesday, the Kerala government issued an order to create a supernumerary Deputy Commandant post in the Malabar Special Police Battalion for football legend I M Vijayan, in recognition of his significant contributions to the sport. Vijayan, who currently serves as Assistant Commandant, will be appointed to this new role just a day before his retirement from the force.
