In response to growing tensions between India and Pakistan, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday instructed all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to stay alert and prepared. During a high-level meeting held in Shimla, the Chief Minister reviewed the current situation in each district through virtual interactions with local officials.

He emphasized that while there is no need for panic, everyone must remain cautious and observant. To ensure smooth functioning during the upcoming three-day holiday period, key government offices like the Chief Minister's office, Chief Secretary’s office, and Control Rooms will remain open and staffed.

CM Sukhu directed border districts, especially those near Pathankot, Chandigarh, and Jammu and Kashmir, to respond swiftly to any warnings, including siren alerts, in case of further escalation. He also urged all departments to strictly follow guidelines issued by the Central and State Governments to ensure public safety.

Showing solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, CM Sukhu praised their strong response to recent cross-border threats, saying the state is proud of their bravery. He urged people to rely only on verified information and ignore any rumors or fake news.

The meeting was attended in person by senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and other key secretaries, while DCs and SPs joined virtually from across the state.
