Himachal Cabinet approves 1,000 Animal Husbandry posts

The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu, approved the Pashu Mitra Policy 2025 on Monday, allowing 1,000 multi-task worker posts in the Animal Husbandry Department to be filled. It also approved 100 Junior Office Assistant (Library) posts in the Education Department, and new posts in the Revenue Department—10 Senior Assistants and 15 Junior Office Assistants (IT).

Five posts in the State Transport Appellate Tribunal and five Ayurvedic Pharmacy Officer posts in the Ayush Department were also approved. The Cabinet increased the monthly fodder grant for cattle in Gausadans from Rs 700 to Rs 1,200 per head.

Honorariums for operation theatre assistants were raised from Rs 17,820 to Rs 25,000, and for radiographers and X-ray technicians from Rs 13,100 to Rs 25,000. The Mukhya Mantri Green Adoption Yojna was approved to encourage plantations on degraded forests by private entrepreneurs under CSR.

New rules were introduced to restrict building construction on Shimla’s valley side, requiring structures to be at least one meter below road level to protect the valley’s beauty. The forest area near Mata Tara Devi Temple will be included in Shimla’s green zone for sustainable development.

The Cabinet also approved guidelines for hiring e-taxis, merged the Public Works Department’s design wing with the civil wing for better efficiency, and renamed the Sarahan veterinary dispensary to Baga Sarahan in Kullu district.
