The Central government has agreed to the Opposition’s demand for a debate on Operation Sindoor during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which begins on July 21, according to sources.

The decision comes amid growing pressure from Opposition parties, who had been demanding a detailed discussion on the issue, which has sparked national attention. The debate is expected to take place in the coming days of the session, which is scheduled to run until August 21.

However, the government has not yet decided on whether to allow a separate debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar, another key demand raised by Opposition members. The issue has drawn scrutiny following concerns about potential voter manipulation ahead of the upcoming state elections.

The Monsoon Session is expected to be stormy, with several contentious topics likely to be raised, including electoral transparency, national security, and recent legislative proposals.

More clarity on the scheduling of specific debates is expected once the Parliament convenes.
