Gautam Adani draws Rs 10.41 cr pay in FY25, lags behind peers
New Delhi
India’s second richest person, Gautam Adani, earned Rs 10.41 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2025, according to recent company reports. This amount is 12% higher than the Rs 9.26 crore he received in 2023-24 but remains lower than many industry peers and even some of his own company executives.
Adani took salary and benefits from two companies in his business group — Rs 2.54 crore from Adani Enterprises Ltd and Rs 7.87 crore from Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone. Despite being one of India’s top business leaders, his pay is less than major corporate heads like Sunil Bharti Mittal, Rajiv Bajaj, and others, whose salaries range from Rs 30 crore to over Rs 100 crore.
Within his group, some executives earn much more. For example, AEL’s CEO Vinay Prakash received Rs 69.34 crore, while Adani Green Energy’s MD Vneet Jain earned Rs 11.23 crore. Adani’s family members in the group also earn sizable paychecks.
Gautam Adani, worth $82.5 billion, has been competing with Mukesh Ambani for Asia’s richest person title. Though he lost the top spot after a market setback in 2023, he remains one of the wealthiest figures globally, ranked 20th on the Bloomberg Billionaires list.
