Dubai duo nabbed with gold

A couple returning from Dubai were caught at Surat airport on July 20 around 10 pm for smuggling over 20 kg of gold paste hidden under their clothes. A CISF intelligence officer in plain clothes noticed their odd walking style and bulges around their waist, leading to suspicion. Customs officials were alerted and a physical check was carried out. The woman had 16 kg and the man had 12 kg of gold paste strapped to their bodies. Officials say this could be Surat airport's biggest gold smuggling case so far.
