Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal emphasized the need for the I.N.D.I.A. bloc parties to come together and finalize their electoral strategy, avoiding confusion. Speaking at a press conference, he stated that the Congress has always aimed for consensus but challenges arise.

Sibal pointed out that questions should have been raised when AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal fielded candidates against Congress in states like Haryana, Goa, and Gujarat. He recalled how the RJD blamed Congress for its underperformance in the Bihar elections and highlighted the necessity of a unified approach. Unlike the BJP, which benefits from a centralized command, opposition parties need coordination, he said.

Sibal referred to NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar’s statement that the I.N.D.I.A. bloc is a national alliance, noting the ambiguity around its scope. He stressed that alliance partners must decide whether they contest elections separately or together.

Responding to senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar’s call for clarity on coalition politics, Sibal remarked that such concerns should have been raised earlier. He criticized the inconsistency in questioning Congress while ignoring AAP’s independent moves.

Sibal, who left Congress in 2022 and joined Rajya Sabha with SP’s support, underscored that resolving these issues through discussions is crucial for the opposition’s success.
