Congress Haryana overhaul: Rahul Gandhi meets state leaders
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a crucial meeting with senior Haryana Congress leaders on Wednesday as part of the party's ongoing 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan' (organisation rejuvenation campaign). The meeting, aimed at revamping the state unit, saw the participation of key figures including former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan, ex-HPCC presidents Birender Singh and Kumari Selja, senior leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala, Ajay Singh Yadav, MP Deepender Singh Hooda, and Ashok Tanwar.
The leaders are expected to provide feedback on reorganising the state Congress structure. Gandhi will also meet with AICC and PCC observers as the party begins the process of rebuilding its organisational framework in Haryana.
Speaking before the meeting, Kumari Selja said Gandhi would offer direction and guidance for restructuring efforts. Birender Singh noted that a complete organisational structure would significantly strengthen the Congress in the state.
The Congress has been out of power in Haryana for over a decade and has lacked a district-level organisation for the past 11 years. Gandhi’s visit is seen as a key step in reviving the party’s grassroots presence.
The party has already appointed observers to oversee the selection of District Congress Committee presidents. Upon arriving at the airport, Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, received a warm welcome from party workers.
This visit followed his stop in Bhopal on Tuesday, where he engaged in similar discussions under the same rejuvenation initiative.
