Congress alleges fake slugfest between AAP, BJP
New Delhi
The Congress party accused AAP and BJP of using Delhi as a pawn in their "noora kushti" (fixed fight) ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Pawan Khera, the AICC Media and Publicity Chairman, claimed that since the political changes in 2013 and 2014, Delhi has experienced a series of frauds. He described the situation as a "double fraud"—one by the Delhi government and the other by the central government.
At a press conference, Khera stated that the Congress would deliver on its promises immediately after taking power. He emphasized that Delhi, which has been central to national direction, is tired of the ongoing political games between AAP and BJP. He also noted that people are now looking to Congress for change.
Ahead of the elections, the Congress has promised five guarantees, including Rs 500 for LPG cylinders, free ration kits, and free electricity up to 300 units. Additionally, they pledged Rs 2,500 per month to women under the "Pyaari Didi Yojana" and up to Rs 25 lakh in free health insurance through the "Jeevan Raksha Yojana." The Congress also vowed to provide Rs 8,500 monthly for educated unemployed youth for a year. Polling will take place on February 5, with votes counted on February 8.
