CDS Gen Anil Chauhan urges tech upgrade for security

CDS General Anil Chauhan stressed the need for technological advancements, strategic thinking, and adaptability to address future security challenges. Speaking at the inauguration of Techkriti 2025, Asia’s largest intercollegiate technical and entrepreneurial festival at IIT Kanpur, he highlighted the importance of modernizing the Indian Armed Forces.
General Chauhan discussed emerging warfare challenges in cyber, AI, quantum, and cognitive domains. He urged greater collaboration between the armed forces, academia, and the defence industry while encouraging students to explore careers in defence and technology. Addressing an audience of scholars, students, and NCC cadets, he emphasized discipline, resilience, courage, and sacrifice.
The event featured distinguished guests, including Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit and IIT Kanpur Director Prof. Manindra Agrawal. Techkriti 2025 follows the theme Panta Rhei (Everything Flows), symbolizing continuous technological evolution.
A key highlight is Rakshakriti, a dedicated Defence Expo showcasing advanced defence technologies like autonomous drones, promoting self-reliance in national security. Techkriti, established in 1995, serves as an international platform for innovation and competition, with its 31st edition taking place from March 27-30.
