BJP MLC C T Ravi has expressed concern for his safety and requested government protection, claiming there is a threat to his life. He warned that if anything were to happen to him, the government would be held responsible.

Ravi, who was arrested two days ago for allegedly using derogatory language against Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar in the Legislative Council at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi, was later released following a court order.

The MLC accused Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar of conspiring against him.

"Human rights were violated, and there was a plot against me," Ravi stated. "The government is responsible for my safety. If anything happens to me, they will be held accountable."

Ravi denied the accusations against him, asserting that he had always treated Hebbalkar with respect. He also revealed that during his arrest, he was taken to remote locations, including sugarcane fields at night, leading him to believe there were attempts to harm him. The BJP leader has demanded a judicial inquiry into the conduct of the police during the incident.
