BJP's Shahnawaz Hussain warns Pak will turn desert
New Delhi
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain strongly criticized Pakistan, warning that the country could face a severe water shortage if the Indus Water Treaty is suspended. He emphasized that the suspension's effects would be dire, predicting that Pakistan would eventually turn into a desert with no water to drink.
Speaking about the recent Pahalgam attack, Hussain stated it was part of a larger conspiracy to disrupt Kashmir's tourism and further a campaign of hatred. He condemned the use of religion in the terrorist attack, noting that India remained united against terrorism and Pakistan's actions. Pakistan will have to beg for every drop of water, he said, highlighting how the country’s support for terrorism has exposed it globally. Hussain added that India’s response would be firm, in the language Pakistan understands.
He also stated that Pakistan’s leaders, such as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and General Munir, were directly responsible for the killing of innocent civilians and would face retaliation. Hussain also reiterated that the fight is not between religions but between righteousness and unrighteousness, as emphasized by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
The Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives, led to strong diplomatic and security measures. The Indian government suspended the Indus Water Treaty and placed the military on high alert. In an all-party meeting, the opposition expressed full support for the government's actions in response to Pakistan's role in cross-border terrorism.
