Bihar to target 'Mafia Raj' in mining: Sinha

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has promised tough action against illegal mining, pledging the state government's determination to eliminate the 'mafia raj' in the sector. Speaking to reporters, Sinha stated that the government is ready to take strong steps to address illegal activities and bring transparency to the mining department. Anyone involved in illegal mining will face strict consequences. We are working on a solid strategy to dismantle the mafia network and improve the system, he declared.
Sinha also mentioned plans to introduce stricter regulations and implement advanced surveillance technologies to monitor mining activities. We will ensure accountability at all levels, allowing legal miners to work smoothly while cracking down on those exploiting the system for personal profit, he explained.
The minister emphasized the government's focus on encouraging lawful and sustainable mining practices, urging officials to carry out reforms fairly and without bias. He reiterated that the government’s zero-tolerance approach to illegal mining will lead to swift action against any corrupt individuals involved in the sector.
