Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday expressed pride over the state’s role in strengthening India’s defence capabilities. His remarks came after the successful flight trials of the UAV-Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM-V3) at the National Open Area Range (NOAR) in Kurnool.

Responding to a post by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on social media platform X, Naidu wrote, Andhra Pradesh is proud to contribute to the growth of our nation's defence ecosystem. Congratulations to our scientists and innovators on the successful ULPGM-V3 trials. He added that this success marks an important milestone in advancing Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, defence partners, startups, and MSMEs for their role in developing the upgraded missile system. He noted that this achievement reflects the Indian industry’s growing capacity to develop and produce high-end defence technology.

ULPGM-V3 is the improved version of ULPGM-V2, developed by DRDO to enhance precision targeting through UAV systems.

Earlier in May, during a meeting with Rajnath Singh, CM Naidu had proposed a vision to make Andhra Pradesh a key defence and aerospace hub. The plan includes developing integrated defence facilities, reviving key manufacturing units, supporting indigenous aviation programs, and setting up testing, training, and research centres.

Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s strong infrastructure, skilled talent, and industry-friendly policies as key advantages. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to self-reliant defence manufacturing in alignment with the goals of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
