At the WAVES Summit in Mumbai, the Andhra Pradesh government signed an agreement to create a Transmedia Entertainment City in the state. The project, called Creatorland, will feature theme parks, gaming zones, and global cinema co-production areas, aimed at promoting job creation, skill development, tourism, and digital innovation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES), which runs from May 1 to 4. The deal with CreativeLand Asia marks a major step in boosting film and entertainment tourism in the state.
The project is expected to attract up to Rs 10,000 crore in investment over the next six years. The funds will go toward developing a virtual studio complex powered by AI and advanced technologies. Creatorland is also expected to generate numerous employment and skill-building opportunities, particularly for youth in the creative and tech sectors.
