Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a massive ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Ahmedabad on Sunday to commemorate the success of Operation Sindoor, an anti-terror campaign launched following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. The event was organized by the BJP to honour the Indian Armed Forces for their efforts in eliminating terrorism.

Shah, addressing the gathering, emphasized the valour and sacrifice of Indian soldiers, stating that Operation Sindoor has become a symbol of India’s commitment to ending terrorism. “Through their bravery, our armed forces have made this operation historic,” Shah wrote in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The Tiranga Yatra, scheduled from May 13 to 23, aims to raise awareness about the significance of the operation and express national gratitude towards the military. It also serves to reinforce patriotism and national unity across the country.

The operation was a retaliatory strike against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following an attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people. As per official claims, nearly 100 terrorists were neutralized during the campaign.

Senior BJP leaders including Sambit Patra, Vinod Tawde, and Tarun Chugh are coordinating the campaign nationwide. Prominent Union Ministers, BJP Chief Ministers, and party leaders are expected to lead similar processions in their respective states. The BJP has positioned the event as a unifying national movement to salute the armed forces and highlight the Modi government’s strong stance on national security. Citizens from across the country are actively participating, expressing solidarity and support for the military’s efforts.
