To ensure comfort and safety for its women personnel, Delhi Police has inaugurated a modern facility named ‘Akshee – The Pink Abode’ at the Delhi airport unit. Designed especially for female staff working in one of India’s busiest airports, the new barrack aims to offer a peaceful and rejuvenating space.

Inaugurated on Friday by Special Commissioner of Police (Public Transport and Safety), Robin Hibu, the barrack features calming pink interiors, symbolising the department’s growing emphasis on gender-sensitive spaces. Hibu described Akshee as a reflection of the department's dedication to staff welfare, saying it gives policewomen a much-needed break from their demanding duties.

The air-conditioned barrack is equipped with four beds, individual storage units, a shared dining area, sofa corner, a TV, hygienic restrooms, and motivational decor. This thoughtful setup provides a comfortable environment for relaxation and social interaction.

Before the inauguration, a 'Sampark Sabha' was held where Hibu appreciated the hard work of the women officers and encouraged open communication between staff and leadership.

Officials believe that such steps will not only boost morale but also foster a sense of dignity and support within the workforce, creating a more inclusive and caring work environment for women in uniform.
