Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav mocked the BJP, saying it prefers foul smell, which is why it builds gaushalas (cowsheds), while his party promotes perfume parks. Speaking in Kannauj, Yadav said the region symbolizes harmony, but the BJP spreads hatred. He urged people to completely eliminate BJP’s influence to revive Kannauj’s progress.

Yadav further criticized the government, claiming it failed to control stray bulls and that allocated funds were being misused. We value fragrance, while they embrace foul smells, he remarked.

Responding sharply, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya accused Yadav of being disconnected from his roots. In a post on X, Maurya stated, If a farmer’s son finds cow dung foul, he has lost touch with his heritage. Munshi Premchand once wrote that if a farmer's son dislikes cow dung, famine follows. If Yadav finds it stinky, his party is nearing political extinction.
