AIIMS Bhubaneswar has achieved a significant milestone with the launch of its pioneering Robotic Knee Replacement facility, the first of its kind in Eastern India under the government sector. This breakthrough sets a new standard in advanced healthcare for the region.

The first robotic knee replacement surgery was successfully carried out on a 66-year-old female patient, using cutting-edge technology by the expert team at the Department of Orthopaedics. The surgery was a success, and the patient is now in stable condition.

Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, emphasized the importance of making advanced healthcare accessible to all, especially with initiatives like Ayushman Bharat. He noted, Robo-assisted surgeries are a game-changer, and now they're available to everyone.

Earlier, Union Minister of Health Jagat Prakash Nadda inaugurated the Central Research Laboratory at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on April 12. This facility will enhance research capabilities and support innovative medical solutions.

Additionally, the Minister laid the foundation for the Multi-Utility Block, designed to meet the growing needs of the institute. This new infrastructure will offer multiple services, improving operational efficiency.

Nadda also launched the new AIIMS Bhubaneswar website, integrated with public-friendly features and digital services. He also inaugurated the EHS Clinic and AMRIT Pharmacy, making essential healthcare and affordable medicines more accessible.
