7 Andhra pilgrims dead, 2 injured in truck crash

Seven pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh died and two others were injured after a mini-bus they were traveling in collided with a truck in Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday. The pilgrims were returning from the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj when the accident occurred on a four-lane highway near the Canal area of Mohla Bargi village, within Sihora police station limits.

The truck, traveling from Jabalpur to Katni, lost control and veered into the opposite lane, crashing into the mini-bus. Authorities arrived at the scene, removed the truck with a crane, and rescued the passengers. Seven people in the mini-bus died, and two others were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The truck was carrying marble powder, and following the incident, the injured were treated at the hospital while the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem. The police have begun an investigation into the accident.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his condolences and ordered an inquiry into the matter. He also announced that the state government is making arrangements to assist the victims' families in returning to Andhra Pradesh. Yadav prayed for the victims’ families, offering strength and peace during this tragic time.
