The central government informed the Rajya Sabha that out of over 6.6 lakh public grievances received from April 1 to July 24 this year, more than 4.47 lakh complaints have been resolved. This reflects a growing focus on quick and efficient handling of citizen complaints.

Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh stated that these complaints were received through the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), an online platform where citizens can register complaints against various government departments. The average time taken for redressal has been 16 days.

To ensure quicker solutions, monthly review meetings are held with ministries, departments, and state and union territory officials. A feedback call centre has also been operating since July 2022 to monitor satisfaction among citizens.

Regarding pension-related complaints, Singh said 63,310 grievances were registered in 2025. Of these, 55,554 were already resolved using the Centralised Pension Grievances Redress and Monitoring System (CPENGRAMS). The average resolution time for pension cases dropped from 35 days in January to 20 days in July.

The government has also issued a guideline asking all departments to resolve pension-related issues within 21 days. Various tools like 'Pension Adalats', inter-ministerial meetings, and training programmes have been introduced to improve redressal rates.

So far, 13 Pension Adalats have been held, addressing 18,481 out of 25,831 complaints—a success rate of 72 percent. In the most recent adalat on June 4, 325 of 415 complaints were resolved on the spot, showcasing the government’s commitment to a citizen-first approach.
