Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated a new Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the Tis Hazari Court Complex, marking what she called a major milestone in Delhi’s healthcare journey. Calling it a “turning point,” Gupta said the health facility is a significant gift from the central government that previous administrations failed to deliver.

“This initiative should have started four years ago, but the former government never took any steps. They only opened temporary structures like Mohalla Clinics. In contrast, we are focused on providing permanent, high-quality healthcare services,” Gupta told the media. She further said her government completed the work in just eight months, adding that every penny spent is aimed at genuinely benefiting Delhi’s citizens.

Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa inaugurated another Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Budh Bazar Road in Chaukhandi. He announced that a total of 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs were inaugurated across the city on Tuesday, all equipped with modern infrastructure and facilities.

In a related development, Minister Ashish Sood, on May 18, distributed Ayushman Bharat cards to senior citizens aged 70 and above in Janakpuri under the Pradhan Mantri Vay Vandana Yojana. Speaking at the event, Sood said the initiative is being carried out under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and aims to ensure that the elderly receive proper healthcare through empaneled hospitals. He urged the public to raise awareness about the Ayushman Bharat scheme, especially among senior citizens, so they can benefit both within Delhi and in other states.
