18-year-old Varanasi student allegedly shot at school

An 18-year-old student, Hemant Singh, died after being shot at Gyandeep Public School in Khushalnagar, Varanasi. The incident occurred in the school's parking compound on Tuesday afternoon, according to DCP Varuna Zone, Pramod Kumar. Hemant, who had appeared for his class 12 exams this year, was injured and later died during treatment.
The school manager, Ravi Singh, informed the police about the shooting. Police collected evidence from the scene, including the pistol used in the incident. Initial investigations suggest the shooting may have been caused by a personal dispute. Singh, along with Hemant and two others, was seen heading towards the room where the shooting occurred.
In connection with the incident, the police arrested all those present in the room, including the school manager. The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The police continue to investigate the matter further, with the possibility of additional arrests as the investigation progresses.
